E3 2016 Microsoft Highlights – Part #3

The day 2 starts with E3 2016 Microsoft conference. Two simultaneous conferences in LA and London. Microsoft kicked off E3 Monday with expanded Xbox features, lots of new gameplay, but undoubtedly the biggest announcement was the reveal of two new versions of the Xbox One: the slimmed-down Xbox One S and a more powerful Xbox code-named Scorpio.

Here are the highlights of MICROSOFT CONFERENCE:

  • Xbox One S Announced

Microsoft opened its conference by revealing the Xbox One S, a slimmed down version of the current Xbox One. The new iteration is 40% smaller, supports 4K, and features a slightly tweaked design. It comes in Fall and costs $299.

  • Xbox Receives 6 New Platform Features

Lots of new features were also announced for the Xbox Live platform, including the ability to listen to background music, the integration of Cortana, and language region independence.

The three big new features are the ability to create Clubs – groups of people you most want to play with; Looking for Group, which allows you to search for specific players – say, someone who wants to build an epic Game of Thrones Minecraft creation with you; Arena – a network for competitive gaming.

  • Customisable Xbox One Controllers

Design Lab will allow buyers to customise the colours of individual components on an Xbox One controller, as well as add bespoke laser engraved text.

  • Tekken 7

Harada also announced that Xbox Live Gold members can download Tekken Tag Tournament 2 for free during the week of E3.

  • Dead Rising 4 Announced

Although leaked images surfaced last week, Microsoft confirmed Dead Rising 4 today, and that the protagonist will be Frank West, the star of the original Dead Rising.

The game will be set around Christmas, and will also release around the holiday season this year. It also looks as crazy as ever before. Check out the new trailer:

  • Scalebound Now Coming to PC

Platinum’s ambitious action game Scalebound will be now be released on PC as part of the Xbox Play Anywhere scheme. The game’s director, Hideki Kamiya, also took to the stage to show-off Platinum Games’ “biggest ever boss fight”. Take a look for yourself:

State of Decay 2 is coming sometime in 2017. The sequel will once again take place in the Trumball Valley. During the trailer, the tagline “Nobody survives alone” appears, indicating it will feature co-operative play. Here’s the announcement trailer:

  • Halo Wars 2 Release Date Announced

343 Industries Studio Head Dan Ayoub revealed that Halo Wars 2 will be available on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC on February 21, 2017.

The Halo Wars 2 beta for Xbox One was also confirmed for June 13 to June 20 and is live now.

  • Xbox One Project Scorpio Revealed

After months of rumours, Microsoft closed its conference by confirming the existence of a more powerful version of the Xbox One, code-named Project Scorpio. The console is due out Holiday 2017.

Microsoft’s Scorpio demo reel confirmed that Fallout 4 VR and other “premier VR” experiences would come to Project Scorpio. No specific Xbox VR hardware announcements were made.

On stage, Xbox head Phil Spencer announced that all Xbox One peripherals would be supported by Project Scopio and that all Xbox One games will be playable on the original Xbox One, the Xbox One S, and Project Scorpio with the goal being that “no one gets left behind.”

“Project Scorpio will be the next addition to the Xbox One family, and it is ultimately the next step in delivering our vision of gaming beyond generations,” Spencer stated. When it ships next year we believe it’ll be the most powerful console ever built.”

This trailer was the most impressive one. It is the tale of a plucky bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial. Set in a drug-fuelled, retro futuristic city in an alternative 1960s England, you’ll have to blend in with its other inhabitants, who don’t take kindly to people who don’t abide by their not-so-normal rules.

It was the most creepy and scary trailer.

‘We Happy few’ is set to release on July 26,2016 on Stream and Xbox Preview.
